In and out of folding flow

“Home is where you can get in your flow”.

One year after moving to Minnesota, I felt terribly “un-rooted”. I couldn’t relate to my new surroundings, let alone connect with them.
But a 16000-folds journey transformed me.

I finally read the winter 2018/19 Monarch butterfly reports... and they’re horrifying. 80% less made it to their western wintering lands than the previous year. πŸ›we are one with all living organismsπŸ› Caterpillar made of recycled ads, inspired by Nick Robinson’s structure. #savethemonarchs #urgent #ecoart #environmentalism #origami #mixedmediaart #monarchs
Pseudacris cruciferus, aka Spring Peeper aka Tiny Amphibian. Garden of words prototype, final and ready to be sent. Each mulberry paper bloom spells the word β€œflower” in the seven most widely spoken languages in the Centennial school district, Minnesota. Namely: English, Spanish, Russian, Hmong, Somali, Arabic, Dakota Sioux. Native speakers of β€œminority status” languages rarely see their multilingualism as an asset. I personally believe that it is up to public facilities such as libraries and schools to help change this perception. Each wave of new settlers brings the seeds of an incredible wealth of words, stories, names, songs... A wealth that should be tend to with love and care, not unlike a garden. ************************** #mixedmediaart #installationart #paperart #origami #prototype #mulberrypaper #language #garden
